Heartbeats Festival





Linda Garrity, the Community Education Coordinator from Hancock Regional Hospital told Kiwanis about the education programs and the upcoming Heartbeats Festival, “Spring Into Health”, Saturday, April 26 at the hospital.  

The Education division facilitates classes in CPR, smoking cessation, childbirth, and the AARP driving refreshers classes.  The division also hosts support groups including grief support, young mothers and babies, and Alzheimer’s.

The Heartbeats festival is a health fair providing free and low cost lab screenings, performed on a first come first served basis.  Free vendor screenings include vision, hearing, blood pressure, and blood glucose.  Labs screenings include Chemistry Profile, Hemoglobin A1C, hsC Reactive Protein, Homocystine, Prostate Specific Antigen, and Thyroid Simulating Hormone.  Diagnostic Imaging Screening require an appointment.  The imaging screenings performed are Arterial Evaluation, Cardiac Score, Lung Screen, and Bone Density.  For further information see www.hancockgional.org  or call 468-4600 for information and to make appointments.
