Tom Roney, owner of Tuttle Orchard spoke to Kiwanis about
the orchard and its operations. Tuttle
Orchard was started as an apple orchard in 1928 by Mr. Roney’s grandfather. The orchard now grows over 50 acres of
vegetables including sweet corn, and pumpkins. Tomatoes, peppers and squash are
grown in a greenhouse. The farm market
which features their locally grown produce also has some specialty products
purchased from other suppliers. The
market is open daily except for Sundays year round.
Spring and fall are special times at the orchard with flowers
and vegetable plants available for sale.
Annuals, perennials, and vegetable plants are available in the spring
from April 25 to June 30. Fresh produce
is available starting June 10 with tomatoes.
Apples are available beginning in July 5. Up to
date availability can be obtained from their website at www.tuttleorchards.com .
