Hancock Regional Hospital Cardivascular Unit

Donna Hall and Tera Morez of Hancock Regional Hospital informed Kiwanis members about the hospital's state-of-the-art technology for precise diagnosis and identification of the most appropriate treatment for cardiovascular problems.  The hospital offers Cardiac Catheterization, Cardiac Stress Testing, Nuclear Testing,  Echocardiogram, Electrocardiography,  and Cardiac Rehabilitation.  The hospital is full service and high quality.  There are 4 board certified cardiologists and 2 board certified vascular speicalist on staff.  The staff averages 20 years cardiovascular experience. 

Benchmark data from American College of Cardiology (ACC) has resulted in hospitals being held accountable for the amount of time between patient presentation in the emergency department and heart attack treatment in the cardiac catheterization lab. Hospitals are expected to begin treatment in the catheterization lab within 90 minutes of patient arrival.  At Hancock Regional that time is 47 minutes.  Patient satisfaction ratings are in the 90th percentile.

Kiwanis Valentine Party

 Kiwanis took time out to have a funny Valentine Party at their recent meeting.  Hostess committee in charge of the fun were from left:  Vicki Emmons, Carol Reddish, Barb Kauchak, Sue True and chairman Julie Dishman.

Each table of four made a heart and wrote an original poem.  Representing the winners of the best poem, most original and prettiest were Jean Willis, Toni Dudley and Martie Crider.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mayor and First Lady

Greenfield Kiwanis congratulated Mayor Chuck Fewell on his recent election to Kiwanis.  Mayor Fewell succeeds Dick Pasco who was also a Kiwanian.  Other recent mayors who belong to Kiwanis include Rodney Fleming and Pat Elmore.  Dick Pasco served  in almost every position in the Greenfield Club, was Lt. Governor of the Rose Division, and Governor of the Indiana District of Kiwanis.

Mayor Fewell and his wife Kristen are both members of the club.

Yuletide Helpers

Kiwanis heard a report from Yuletide Helpers who work on Courthouse Plaza during the Yuletide season.  Tom Billings assisted by Pat Kohne have chaired the project.   Long time helpers with 10 years or more of service include Bob Gullion, Tom Graham, and John Jester.

Maxwell Intermediate K-Kids

Terry Beagle, Logan Overman, Laura Morris, Jordan Yeager, and Lyndsay Ortwein 

The Maxwell Intermediate K-Kids presented information about their club to the Greenfield Kiwanis on Tuesday, January 14.  The club has 70 members.  In the past year projects included making birthday bags for the Hancock County Food Pantry, collecting money for Unicef, making Christmas cards for the residents of Kindred healthcare and then delivering those cards and singing Christmas carols.  Logan Overman is president of the club and Jordan Yeager is the club vice president.  Lyndsay Ortwein, Laura Morris, and Kim Schrank are the club sponsors.  Terry Beagle coordinates activities with the Kiwanis Club.
