Hancock Regional Hospital Cardivascular Unit
Donna Hall and Tera Morez of Hancock Regional Hospital informed Kiwanis members about the hospital's state-of-the-art technology for precise diagnosis and identification of the most appropriate treatment for cardiovascular problems. The hospital offers Cardiac Catheterization, Cardiac Stress Testing, Nuclear Testing, Echocardiogram, Electrocardiography, and Cardiac Rehabilitation. The hospital is full service and high quality. There are 4 board certified cardiologists and 2 board certified vascular speicalist on staff. The staff averages 20 years cardiovascular experience.
Benchmark data from American College of Cardiology (ACC) has resulted in hospitals being held accountable for the amount of time between patient presentation in the emergency department and heart attack treatment in the cardiac catheterization lab. Hospitals are expected to begin treatment in the catheterization lab within 90 minutes of patient arrival. At Hancock Regional that time is 47 minutes. Patient satisfaction ratings are in the 90th percentile.
